Frequently Asked Questions
After having an initial appointment, clients typically have an assessment to see if treatment is needed. Assessments typically take 2 hours to complete; and afterwards you will be given a formal treatment recommendation. This ensures you are getting the right level of care. If you have any other questions, check the FAQs below or give us a call for more info.
NEW CLIENT FAQS
What if I was in services before and it didn’t take?
At Nua Counseling, PLLC our goal is to identify your unique patterns and trends. What did work for your when you were previously in services? What additional supports did you need? Our strength based programming focuses on measurable, attainable goals. We work together to find solutions for you.
What if I’m already working with a therapist or doctor? Should I tell them about this?
Absolutely! At Nua Counseling, PLLC we like to work with a continuum of care. We work hard to never duplicate the services you’re already enrolled with -- we want to build a team of support that works for you.
If I have an assessment, does that mean I need treatment?
Not necessarily – we use the assessment as the starting point. Some people do benefit from immediate treatment, and others will be referred to providers that best fit their needs. An assessment can even rule out care. It’s our belief that clients should be referred to the least restrictive level of care. We want to try and find what success looks like for you.
Are my appointments confidential?
All information we receive is protected. Much like visiting your doctor, we legally cannot release information about you or your situation unless you consent in writing. You direct what, how, and with whom we share your protected information.
What do you do in treatment?
At Nua Counseling, PLLC we use an evidence-based curriculum, along with custom-designed lessons. In addition, we offer individual and group support. We work with clients to obtain a practical skill set that they can easily apply to their lives.
